Actor Neetu Chandra, known for her roles in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu films is recently making headlines for taking legal action against well-known rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh. She has filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Patna High Court, accusing the singer of promoting vulgarity in his latest song ‘Maniac.’
Neetu claims that the song ‘overly sexualises’ women, presenting them merely as ‘sex objects.’ The actress also argued that the use of Bhojpuri language in the song normalises such vulgarity.

Talking about Neetu’s personal life, the actress was born on June 20, 1984, in Patna, she hails from a Bhojpuri family. Neetu took education from Notre Dame Academy in Patna and later she graduated from Delhi’s Indraprastha College. Her passion for acting began with her modelling career, and she has since appeared in various advertisements and music videos.
Rise To Fame In Bollywood
Neetu Chandra made her Bollywood debut in 2005 with the film Garam Masala, where she played the role of Sweety, an air hostess.
She continued to work in various films like Traffic Signal (2007), Rann (2010), and Sadiyaan (2010). Her performance in the Tamil film Yavarum Nalam (2009), alongside R Madhavan, was particularly well-known.
Apart from acting, Neetu has also stepped into film production. In 2011, she produced the Bhojpuri film Deswa which was directed by her brother Nitin Chandra. Not only in national but Neetu has also made her mark in the international film industry. She was featured in the martial arts film ‘Never Back Down: Revolt (2021)’, a sequel to the Never Back Down franchise.
