Indian actress and politician Urmila Matondkar has reportedly filed for divorce from her husband Mohsin Akhtar Mir after eight years of marriage. They tied their knot on 4 February 2016, in an intimate ceremony that garnered people’s attention for being an inter-faith marriage and the couple having a notable ten-year age gap.
According to Hindustan Times, an anonymous source from a Mumbai Court revealed that the reason for the split is not clear, however, it isn’t happening on mutual terms. Another source claimed that the ‘Judaai’ Actress Urmila filed for divorce four months back.
While Urmila Matondkar has often been in the spotlight for her films and political ventures, her husband, Mohsin Akhtar Mir, remains a relatively private figure.

Who is Mohsin Akhtar Mir?
Kashmir-born businessman and model Mohsin Akhtar Mir first met Urmila at designer Manish Malhotra’s niece’s wedding. The couple reportedly went to the Golden Temple at Amritsar after their Nikah ceremony.
Before his marriage to Urmila, Mohsin moved to Mumbai from Kashmir at the age of 21 to find success in Bollywood. He made his acting debut in ‘It’s A Man’s World’ in 2009 and then appeared in films – Luck By Chance(2009), Mumbai Mast Kallander (2011), and B.A. Pass in 2012. As per reports, he eventually shifted his focus to Business later and is now associated with Indian Fashion Designer Manish Malhotra’s label.
While stories about their split continue to unfold, fans and followers of Urmila couldn’t help but wonder about the next chapter in her life.
