Francisco San Martin, best remembered for his role as Dario Hernandez in Days of Our Lives, passed away by suicide at the age of 39. The actor was found dead at his Los Angeles home on January 16, as confirmed by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

Francisco joined Days of Our Lives in 2011, portraying Dario Hernandez, a petty thief turned investigator. His six-month stint saw his character move to Argentina for a job promotion. The role was later reprised by actor Jordi Vilasuso from 2016 to 2017.
Beyond his soap opera fame, Francisco also appeared in Jane the Virgin alongside Gina Rodriguez, playing a brief yet impactful role in seasons three and four. His additional credits include roles in Behind the Candelabra and The Bold and the Beautiful.
Hollywood was left shocked by the sudden loss. Actor Camila Banus, who played his on-screen sister Gabi in Days of Our Lives, expressed her grief on Instagram. She wrote, “Pepe, what can I say but I love you and rest in peace, my friend. Love you mucho mucho mucho; I wish I had told you more.”
