Television actor Ashish Kapoor was taken into custody by Police on Wednesday after a woman accused him of sexual assault during a house party. Officials stated that the alleged incident occurred in the second week of August, and police confirmed that the two had met on Instagram.
Who Is Ashish Kapoor?
Born on October 17, 1984, in Delhi, Kapoor began his career as an interior designer before transitioning into acting over a decade ago. He made his debut on television with Ssshhh…Phir Koi Hai (2010) and went on to appear in popular serials such as Chand Chupa Badal Mein, Love Marriage Ya Arranged Marriage, Saat Phere – Saloni Ka Safar, Saraswatichandra, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Molkki – Rishton Ki Agnipariksha, and Woh Apna Sa.
Kapoor became well known for playing Udayveer Singh (Uday) in Dekha Ek Khwaab, where his chemistry with co-star Priyal Gor was widely appreciated. His personal life has often made news where he dated Priyal Gor, then Albanian model Ilda Kroni, and got engaged to TV producer Pearl Grey in 2021, but they broke up a year later.
Details Of The Case
The woman initially alleged multiple attackers but later named only Kapoor, which reportedly took place inside a washroom at the party venue. The complainant also alleged that the assault had been filmed, but police stated that no such footage had been recovered so far.
She further accused the friend’s wife of physically attacking her outside the washroom. The complainant reportedly alerted the police via a PCR call. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities have stated that no formal charges have yet been filed against the other individuals mentioned in the FIR.
