Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan shared a special moment from her acting career involving famous Hollywood director Steven Spielberg. She spoke about it on Day Two of the first-ever World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025, held in Mumbai. Kareena was part of a panel discussion called Cinema: The Soft Power, along with Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda. The session was hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar.
The Jab We Met actor, full of excitement, shared a story about meeting Steven Spielberg. She said he recognized her from the film 3 Idiots and praised her acting in the movie. 3 Idiots, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, also starred Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, and Sharman Joshi in important roles.
Steven Spielberg Recognizes Kareena for Her Role in 3 Idiots
Kareena shared a memorable story about meeting Steven Spielberg by chance. She said, “I was actually in a restaurant, travelling somewhere, and Spielberg (Steven Spielberg) happened to be at the same place,” adding, “This was many moons ago. Obviously, it was around the time 3 Idiots had just released. He came up to me and asked, ‘Are you the girl in that very famous Indian film about three students?’ I said, ‘Yes, it’s me!’ He said, ‘My God, I loved that movie. ’ So, you know, I didn’t have to act in an English film for him to have seen 3 Idiots. That, I think, was a special moment for us.”

The four-day summit took place at the Jio World Convention Centre (JWCC) in Mumbai and was officially opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday. Many big stars from all over Inida, like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone, Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, Mohanlal, Hema Malini, Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, and others, are attending the event.
