Baba Siddique, former Maharashtra Minister, was shot dead outside his son MLA Zeeshan Siddique’s office on Saturday night. His demise has sent shockwaves to the film industry as he shared a close bond with several celebrities including Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. When Salman and Shah Rukh Khan were involved in a feud with each other, it was Baba Siddique, who ended their fight at his iftar party in 2013.

For the unversed, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan got into a heated argument at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party in 2008 and avoided each other after over five years. Their infamous fight ended in 2013 at Baba Siddique’s iftar party and the trio were later posed together as well. Even though Siddique is credited with ending the feud between both the actors, he said that he had no role in it. He shared, as quoted by India Today, “They both wanted it… Allah shows the way. I had no role to play.”

Meanwhile, the security outside Salman Khan’s residence has been increased after the assassination of Baba Siddique. The late politician was shot dead outside his son MLA Zeeshan Siddique’s office on Saturday night. The Mumbai police reportedly arrested two suspects, who claimed their connection to Lawrence Bishnoi.

Salman Khan has been the target of Lawrence Bishnoi since 1998 after the black buck hunting case. On April 14, 2024, two motorcycle riders opened fire outside Salman’s Galaxy Apartment in the Bandra area of Mumbai. The police alleged that the suspects were involved with Lawrence Bishnoi.

Baba Siddique is also said to have received a death threat 15 days before his assassination and was put under ‘Y’ category security. According to the police, three youths carried out the assassination on the night of Dussehra 2024. Two accused arrested hailed from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, police said. The third one is absconding. They reportedly arrived in an auto-rickshaw and waited for the right moment to carry out the attack. Sources within the Mumbai Police Crime Branch claimed the two arrested persons have been doing recce in Bandra East for the shooting spot for nearly a month.
