The most special evening in the world of TV, the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards is going to be held today at the Peacock Theatre in California. The eyes of the audience around the world are fixed on this occasion, and fans in India will be able to watch it live on the morning of September 15.
The star-studded night will be hosted by comedian Nate Bargatze, who will be accompanied by Sydney Sweeney and Jenna Ortega. Apart from these, many famous names like Stephen Colbert, Tina Fey, Mariska Hargitay, Sofia Vergara, Jesse Williams, Kristen Bell and Jason Bateman will also grace the stage.
Viewers in India can watch the ceremony live on JioHostar on September 15 at 5:30 am (IST). In the US, it will be streamed on CBS and Paramount from 8 pm (ET). The red carpet and star entries will start at 6:30 pm (ET), in which stars like Pedro Pascal, Jean Smart, Kristen Bell and Selena Gomez will be seen.
This year’s nominations were announced on July 15 by Harvey Guillén, Brenda Song and Television Academy Chair Cris Abrego in a live event. Popular shows like ‘The White Lotus’, ‘The Penguin’, and ‘Severance’ are among the nominations this time.
The 2025 Emmy Awards could witness many historic moments. If Pedro Pascal wins the award for ‘The Last of Us’, he will become the first Latino actor to win the title of ‘Outstanding Lead Actor’ in the Drama Series category.
At the same time, Selena Gomez is also on the verge of making history. If she wins as a producer for ‘Only Murderers in the Building’, she will become the first Latina woman to do so. Also, she has already become the Latina producer with the most nominations.
77-year-old Kathy Bates has set a new record by getting nominated in the ‘Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series’ category for ‘Matlock’. Earlier this record was in the name of Angela Lansbury, who got this nomination in 1996 at the age of 70.
If Colman Domingo gets the ‘Best Supporting Actor’ award for ‘The Four Seasons’, it will be a big achievement for the Afro-Latino community. He can become the second black actor to win in this category after Robert Guillaume.
