Ajay Devgn’s nephew, Aaman Devgn, is all set to make his acting debut in the upcoming period drama Azaad, alongside Raveena Tandon’s daughter, Rasha Thadani. The young actor revealed that working with his legendary uncle was both thrilling and nerve-wracking, especially during their first day on set together.
In an exclusive interview during the film’s trailer launch, Aaman admitted he was overwhelmed with nervousness. “When we first started shooting this film, I was very nervous. I am still nervous, but it’s also mixed with excitement and happiness. This moment will stay with me forever,” he shared. Reflecting on his first scene with his uncle, Aaman confessed, “I was not seeing the character; I was seeing Ajay Devgn.”
Ajay Devgn’s Tough Love: ‘I Keep Firing Him’
Ajay Devgn, who was also present at the event, revealed that he frequently pushes his nephew to deliver better performances. “He keeps getting fired from me all the time. Whatever he tells us is not enough for me. He works very hard but I keep pushing him. He likes it sometimes, he does not like it sometimes. But that’s how I am and that’s how I will,” Ajay said, showing his tough love approach to guiding Aaman in his career.
Aaman will star in Azaad, a period drama directed by Abhishek Kapoor, which explores the powerful bond between humans and animals. Set in pre-Independence India, the film tells the story of 19-year-old Govind and his extraordinary relationship with a horse loyal to a dacoit, played by Ajay Devgn. The film also stars Diana Penty as Ajay’s love interest and features Mohit Malik in a key role. Azaad, produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Pragya Kapoor, will hit theaters on January 17, offering a heartfelt narrative of love, loyalty, and courage amidst a turbulent historical backdrop.
