What’s In The 3-Second Clip That Led To Dhanush’s Rs 10 Crore Lawsuit Against Nayanthara? Watch Here!

A brief clip from the sets of Dhanush's 2015 film 'Naanum Rowdy Dhaan' has led to a bitter legal battle between the actor and Nayanthara, who has refused to back down.

South India actor Nayanthara has been making headlines ever since she openly slammed Dhanush through a four-page letter. It happened after the latter sent a Rs 10 crore legal notice to Nayanthara for using a 3-second clip from his 2015 Tamil film ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’ in her recently released documentary Beyond The Fairy Tale. Dhanush’s legal team gave them 24 hours to remove the footage, failing to do which would lead to legal action.

Though the aforementioned clip was a behind the scene from the film, Dhanush’s team retaliated saying that “even behind the scenes footage belongs to my client as the producer of the film”.

In her letter, Nayanthara accused Dhanush of holding grudges against her and her husband Vignesh and called him out for stopping so low. “This is an all time low from you and speaks so much about your character. I wish you were half the person you portray to be on stage in audio launches in front of your innocent fans but clearly you do not practice what you preach, at least not for me and my partner,” she wrote in her open letter.

But what in this clip?

The three-second clip which has created a chaos shows Nayanthara having a candid conversation with her now husband Vignesh. The video was captured on the sets of ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’ on Vignesh’s phone. Sharing the video, an anonymous Reddit user wrote, “Dhanush’s 10 crore lawsuit was over this clip shot on Nayanthara’s husband’s phone. I’m puzzled: how can the producer claim ownership of candid footage? He can claim rights to movie footage, but this seems unjustified.”

Interestingly, Nayanthara’s husband also shared the clip on his social media handle and wrote, “The 10 crore clip that wants to be taken down from our Netflix documentary. Please watch there for free (emojis) #spreadlove sir.” The caption looked like a dig at Dhanush and his legal notice.
