The tragic demise of Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda on Wednesday, October 8, has left fans and the Indian music industry mourning. He was severely injured in a road accident last month and was fighting for his life in intensive care.
After being hospitalised for 11 days, the singer passed away due to multiple organ failure.
How the accident occurred?
According to an eyewitness named Siddharth, Rajvir lost control of his bike on September 27 near Baddi in Solan district while on his way to Shimla. The eyewitness revealed that two bullocks were fighting on the road, causing the singer to crash.
“2 saand road pe ladh rahe thei. 2 saand ladte ladte Bolero ke samne aa gayi thi. Bolero ne jaise brake mari thi peeche se yeh bike rider aate huei usme zabardast takkar hoh gayi. Emergency break lagi. Sambhalne ka mauka nai tha. Bike rider bhai gambhir roop se ghayal hoh gaye thei. Mohali ke hospital mei dakhil kia,” the eyewitness said.
What happened after the accident?
On September 27, Rajvir got into a serious accident in the Baddi Area of Himachal Pradesh while he was travelling to Shimla in Solan district. He was immediately admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali and was on life support.
Following his death, Fortis Hospital, Mohali issued a statement and said, “Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda passed away at 10:55 AM on October 8, 2025, at Fortis Hospital, Mohali. He was admitted on September 27, 2025, in an extremely critical condition following a road accident that caused severe spinal injuries and brain damage.”
It added, “Despite extensive medical support and continuous monitoring by the Critical Care and Neurosurgery teams, he succumbed to multiple organ failure this morning.”
Earlier, doctors revealed that Jawanda’s condition was ‘extremely critical’ and there was minimal brain activity and no significant improvement.
Who was Rajvir Jawanda ?
Rajvir Jawanda started his music career in 2014 and became popular with his hit song “Kali Jawande Di.” Apart from singing, he also acted in movies like ‘Mindo Taseeldarni’ and ‘Subedar Joginder Singh’. Before joining the music industry, he worked in the Punjab Police.
