New Delhi: RRR happened to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year to date. Now Jr NTR could be a possible contender for the Oscars according to Variety Magazine. Yes, the magazine has listed Jr NTR (Unranked-Alphabetical) in the ‘Best Actor category, in its Oscar prediction list. Variety has also listed RRR on its possible Oscar prediction list of ‘All Contenders’ in the ‘Best Picture’ category.

RRR also features Ram Charan along with Jr NTR. The film revolves around the story of two revolutionaries of the pre-independence era, who fought against the British rulers. Their causes were different but the intention was the same-to rule out British slavery.

The film also featured Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt in side roles. RRR saw Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, Ray Stevenson, Olivia Morris, and Shriya Saran in supporting roles. The movie was directed by SS Rajamouli.

Interestingly, during an interaction session with Russo Brothers and the Baahubali director, the latter was quoted saying that he was surprised by RRR’s reception by the West.

He further said, “A good story is a good story for everyone, but I didn’t think I could make films for Western sensibilities. I never believed myself. So when it came out on Netflix and people started watching it, and word of mouth started spreading, when the critics started giving out good reviews, yes I was really, really surprised.”

Released on the 25th of March this year, RRR managed to receive an overwhelming response from the audience since its opening day.

Recently, even Janhvi Kapoor praised Jr NTR and said, “…Opportunity of working with NTR (Jr NTR) sir would mean so much to me. He is such a legend, but unfortunately, the offer hasn’t come my way yet. I am waiting and I am hoping for the best.”
