He revealed that he has been struggling with this condition for over seven years and called this disorder the 'suicidal disease'. According to the website National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, Trigeminal neuralgia is a type of chronic pain disorder which involves sudden attacks of severe facial pain. The intensity of the pain in this nerve disorder can be physically and emotionally devastating. The pain lasts only for a few seconds or minutes, but it may occur over and over again several times a day.

Talking about its symptoms, the person suffering from trigeminal neuralgia may feel the pain like shock or stabbing pain, typically on one side of the face. It occurs mostly in people over the age of 50.

What did Salman Khan say about dealing with Trigeminal neuralgia?
Talking about the pain and severity of the disorder, the actor said, "It is the worst pain. It is called ‘the suicidal disease.’ The highest number of suicides happen because of this condition."
"You would not want your biggest enemy to have that pain. And I had it for seven and a half years," he further added.
Revealing how his daily life gets affected, Salman shared, "It used to pain every 4-5 minutes. It would happen suddenly. It used to take me about an hour and a half to have my breakfast. For an omelette, I couldn't chew it, I had to force myself, hurt myself, take as much pain, so I could get rid of the meal."
The 'Sikandar' star further revealed that he underwent gamma knife surgery after years of pain and got some relief.
