Recently, shooting of the comedy film Welcome to the Jungle, which is spearheaded by the actor Akshay Kumar, has been stopped. Even though reports in the past said that the shoot had to be halted because of financial reasons, Hindustan Times declared that the actual reason was the unfortunate Pahalgam attack as a significant portion of the shoot was to be undertaken in Kashmir.
Welcome to the Jungle is directed by Ahmed Khan and it has a large ensemble of 34 actors, featuring, Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Johnny Lever, Lara Dutta, Shreyas Talpade, Rajpal Yadav, Manushi Chhillar, Sharib Hashmi, Tusshar Kapoor, Zakir Hussain, Aftab Shivdasani, Yashpal Sharma, Rahul Dev, Farida Jalal, Krushna Abhishek, Supriya Karnik, Manoj Pahwa, Mukesh Tiwari, Kiku Sharda, Mika Singh, Inaamulhaq, Daler Mehndi, and Vrihi Kodvara. Last month the shoot was halted.
A source shared, “70% of the shoot of Welcome to the Jungle is already done. The remaining 30% was to be scheduled in Kashmir, but because of the unfortunate Pahalgam attack, the plan got pushed.”
Pinkvilla stated on Monday that the shoot was cancelled because of non-payment of dues to crew and actors. The report mentioned, “The film has been on floors for over a year and a half now. There are also issues of non-payment of dues to the actors and their staff. Some of the originally cast actors have exited the project, while others are still supporting it out of love for the franchise. They all believe that Welcome is a beloved franchise and are willing to adjust their dates to help complete Welcome to the Jungle.”
Nevertheless, an insider related to the producer disapproved of the finance issues and revealed that there was a fluent schedule of the shoot to be followed by the troop. The source posted, “The entire schedule was locked, which included helicopters, over 250 horses with horsemen, and 1200 junior artists. But, everything is on track, all 34 actors are excited and set to commence the last marathon schedule and will begin post-rains in a different location.”
The release of Welcome to the Jungle was officially announced in 2023 through a video with a star-stunning cast who a cappella sang to show the fun atmosphere in the film. It has originally been scheduled to be released on Christmas 2025, and now the movie is delayed.
