Ashneer Grover, who is currently in the spotlight for hosting the new Indian reality show Rise and Fall, has once again grabbed attention after revealing that he was invited to join Bigg Boss 19 as a wildcard contestant.
On September 26, he posted a screenshot of an email allegedly from the show’s Senior Casting Coordinator, praising his “dynamic personality” and “social media presence” while inviting him to join the reality series.
Ashneer replied with his usual sarcasm, joking, “Haha! Salman bhai se pooch le!! Mai to free ho jaaunga tab tak. (Haha! Ask Salman Bhai. I would get free till then. Yeh ‘mail merge’ kisi ki to naukri khayega.(This mail merge will take away someone’s job).”

Further, a source from the show told India Today that since Ashneer is already hosting a show produced by the same production house, it’s impossible for him to be offered another reality show. The source added, “It’s hilarious that Ashneer even chose to share the mail on social media when it screams fake in every way.”
The email Ashneer Grover shared mentioned Banijay Group, but in reality, Bigg Boss is produced by Banijay Asia. While Banijay Asia has not issued an official statement, production sources confirmed that the email is fake. They added that such invitations are never sent for a shows like Bigg Boss and also pointed out that the company has no employee named Rohit Gupta, as claimed in the mail.
Earlier, in a chat with India Today, Ashneer himself admitted that he had been approached for Bigg Boss “seven to eight times” in the past, but he always declined because the show doesn’t interest him.
