‘War 2’ Vs ‘Coolie’ Box Office Collection Day 4: Rajinikanth Starrer Tops First Weekend, Hrithik Roshan-Jr NTR Trails Closely

The Independence Eve box office saw a blockbuster clash as War 2 and Coolie hit theaters simultaneously. Both films pulled in huge numbers over the opening weekend, dominating audiences nationwide.


This Independence Eve, the box office turned into a massive showdown as Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2 clashed with Rajinikanth’s Coolie on August 14, 2025. Among the year’s most awaited releases, both films drew huge crowds and raked in impressive numbers over their opening weekend, emerging as two of the biggest releases of the year.

War 2 Box Office Collection Day 4:

Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani’s War 2 had a strong start at the box office. On Day 1 (Thursday), the film earned Rs 52 crore, with Hindi contributing Rs 29 crore, Telugu Rs 22.75 crore, and Tamil around Rs 0.25 crore. The momentum continued on Day 2 (Friday), as the film collected Rs 57.35 crore, marking a 10.29% growth compared to its opening day. Hindi dominated with Rs 44.5 crore, followed by Telugu at Rs 12.5 crore, and Tamil at Rs 0.35 crore. However, the collections dipped over the weekend, with Day 3 (Saturday) bringing in Rs 33.25.

On Day 4 (Sunday), early estimates indicate earnings of around Rs 31 crore, slightly lower than Saturday but still maintaining a strong weekend performance. With this, the total box office collection stands at approximately Rs 173.60 crore in just four days.

About War 2

War 2, a sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War, hit theatres on August 14, 2025. It brings back Hrithik Roshan as Agent Kabir after a six-year gap. NTR Jr. joins the franchise as Agent Vikram. Anil Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana are also seen in pivotal roles.

Coolie Box Office Collection Day 4:

Rajinikanth’s Coolie opened to a strong response at the box office. On Day 1 (Thursday), the film earned Rs 65 crore, with Tamil contributing Rs 44.5 crore, Hindi Rs 4.5 crore, Telugu Rs 15.5 crore, and Kannada around Rs 0.5 crore. On Day 2 (Friday), the film collected Rs 54.75 crore, showing a 15.77% dip from its opening day, with Tamil at Rs 34.45 crore, Hindi Rs 6.3 crore, Telugu Rs 13.5 crore, and Kannada Rs 0.5 crore.

Day 4 (Sunday) saw early estimates of around Rs 35 crore, keeping the momentum strong over the weekend. With this, the total box office collection stands at approximately Rs 194.25 crore in just four days in India.

About Coolie:

The plot will focus on Deva, a former gold smuggler who is now working as a coolie. He seeks to regain his past glory by reviving his old gang with stolen technology hidden in vintage golden watches, leading to unintended consequences.

It also stars Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Rachita Ram, Reba Monica John, Junior MGR, Kanna Ravi, Monisha Blessy and Kaali Venkat. Aamir Khan will be seen in a cameo role. It is produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures.
