This Independence Eve, the box office turned into a massive showdown as Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2 clashed with Rajinikanth’s Coolie on August 14, 2025. Among the year’s most awaited releases, the two films pulled in huge crowds on their opening day and continued strongly on Day 2. With Day 1 setting the box office on fire, both giants maintained their winning streak on Day 2.
War 2 Box Office Collection Day 2:
Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2 continued its strong run at the box office over the Independence weekend. On Day 1 (Thursday), the film opened to Rs 51.5 crore, with the highest contributions coming from Hindi markets (Rs 29 crore) and Telugu regions (Rs 22.25 crore).
Day 2 (Friday) saw the movie maintain its momentum, raking in early estimates of Rs 56.5 crore, bringing the total two-day collection to approximately Rs 108 crore.
About War 2
War 2, a sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War, hit theatres on August 14, 2025. It brings back Hrithik Roshan as Agent Kabir after a six-year gap. NTR Jr. joins the franchise as Agent Vikram. Anil Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana are also seen in pivotal roles.
Coolie Box Office Collection Day 2:
Rajinikanth’s Coolie continued to make waves at the box office over the Independence weekend. On Day 1 (Thursday), the film opened to Rs 65 crore, with Tamil-speaking regions contributing the bulk (Rs 44.5 crore), followed by Telugu (Rs 15.5 crore), Hindi (Rs 4.5 crore), and Kannada (Rs 0.5 crore) markets.
Day 2 (Friday) saw the movie earn early estimates of Rs 53.5 crore, bringing the total two-day collection to around Rs 118.5 crore.
About Coolie:
The plot will focus on Deva, a former gold smuggler who is now working as a coolie. He seeks to regain his past glory by reviving his old gang with stolen technology hidden in vintage golden watches, leading to unintended consequences.
It also stars Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Rachita Ram, Reba Monica John, Junior MGR, Kanna Ravi, Monisha Blessy and Kaali Venkat. Aamir Khan will be seen in a cameo role. It is produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures.
