‘War 2’ Release Date Locked, Likely To Clash With Karan Johar’s Film

The film will reportedly be directed by ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ and ‘Brahmastra’ fame Ayan Mukerji.

The much anitipated film ‘War 2’ starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR in the lead roles has locked its release date. Taking forward the story of Major Kabir Dhaliwal, the film will serve as the sixth installment in the YRF Spy Universe.

As reported by Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh, War 2 will release during the Independence Day weekend in 2025. The film will also mark Jr NTR’s debut in the Hindi Film Industry. He’s reportedly playing the antagonist in the film. Hrithik had seemingly confirmed his part in the film when he wished Jr NTR on his birthday with a message that read, “Happy Birthday @tarak9999 ! Wishing you a joyous day and an action-packed year ahead. Awaiting you on the yuddhabhumi my friend. May your days be full of happiness and peace… until we meet Puttina Roju Subhakankshalu Mitrama.”

Yash Raj Films gave fans a treat when they included a teaser of ‘War 2’ at the end credits of the latest YRF Spy Universe film ‘Tiger 3’. The YRF Spy Universe started in 2012 with ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and was followed by ‘Tiger Zinda hai’, ‘Wa’r ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Tiger 3’.

Much to audiences’ surprise the film will reportedly be directed by ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ and ‘Brahmastra’ fame Ayan Mukerji. Though, ‘War’ featuring Hrithik and Tiger Shroff was directed by Sidharth Anand.

The film might also clash with an untitled Dharma Production film featuring Kartik Aaryan. The film is directed by Sandeep Modi and slated to release on August 15, 2025.
