Bollywood actors are lining up to vote as the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections is in progress in Maharashtra. Among them, actor Akshay Kumar, who voted for the first time since regaining his Indian citizenship, proudly displayed his inked finger and spoke to the media outside his polling station.

Speaking to the media, Akshay Kumar shared his happiness about voting for the first time after regaining his Indian citizenship in August 2023. He expressed his desire for India to be developed and strong, emphasizing that he voted with this vision in mind. Kumar also mentioned his optimism about a good voter turnout.
Akshay Kumar applied for Canadian citizenship in the 1990s after experiencing a string of 15 box office failures. However, as his career gained momentum in India, he reapplied for Indian citizenship in 2019.

In addition to Akshay Kumar, ‘Mr. and Mrs. Mahi’ actors Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao arrived at the polling booth early in the morning to cast their votes in the lok sabha elections. Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar also participated in the voting process on Monday, May 20.
Akshay Kumar was last seen in the action drama ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,’ which also featured Tiger Shroff. The film went on to become a huge box office flop.
