Wake Up Dead Man X Review:
I loved #WakeUpDeadMan. Another clever, complex and layered Benoit Blanc story that had me transfixed from beginning to end. Glenn Close (at times channeling Cloris Leachman hilariously) and Josh O’Connor giving stellar performances. O’Connor is now a fully fledged movie star. A pic.twitter.com/VmejZZ2als

The phone call bit in Wake Up Dead Man was alarmingly good, better than I expected both for the film itself and Johnson's series in general. Deciding to handle the subject with such sincerity and honor was the moment I knew the film was trying to say something serious

Wake Up Dead Man: Rian Johnson puts down the oversaturated "eat the rich" satire in favor of a darker exploration of how extremist religion preys on the already angry. Josh O'Connor excels as the one light in the darkness. Daniel Craig brings more depth to Blanc. The best one yet pic.twitter.com/4QH6XNUJtd

WAKE UP DEAD MAN is sensational, an uproariously funny and entertaining crowd-pleaser and the most layered KNIVES OUT mystery yet. Rian Johnson wrestles with faith and absolution in our modern age with searing wit. Josh O’Connor is utterly terrific. A gorgeous film. pic.twitter.com/8mjiUZChjj

Just finished watching Wake Up Dead Man. So good! I think it seriously might be my favorite of the three Knives Out films. Josh O’Connor did an incredible job in his role as Father Jud.

The plot will focus on the murder of a priest, with Detective Benoit Blanc returning to solve this case among many suspects. The title of the film comes from the 1997 U2 song off their album Pop. While talking about it, Rian Johnson told Tudum, “Pop is a very underrated album, and that song is very right for the title. But I’ve had ‘Wake Up Dead Man’ in my head for a long while, and I first heard the phrase in American folk music.”
The movie also stars Glenn Close as Martha Delacroix, Josh O’Connor as Rev. Jud Duplenticy, a priest, Josh Brolin as Msgr. Jefferson Wicks, a priest, Mila Kunis as Geraldine Scott, a police chief, Jeremy Renner as Dr. Nat Sharp, Andrew Scott as Lee Ross, Kerry Washington as Vera Draven, Daryl McCormack as Cy Draven, Thomas Haden Church as Samson Holt and Cailee Spaeny as Simone Vivane.
