Baba Siddique’s assassination has shaken the film industry as the former Maharashtra minister had close relationships with several celebrities including Salman Khan. Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang later took responsibility for Baba Siddique’s murder via social media. For the unversed, Bishnoi has earlier given threats to Salman Khan several times. Amid these shocking incidents, an old video of actor Vivek Oberoi praising the Bishnoi committee has gone viral again.
In the viral video, Vivek is heard praising the Bishnoi committee’s care for animals. The actor said, “Yeh duniya mein ek hi samaj hai, Bishnoi samaj, jaha pe agar hiran maar jaye toh uske baache ko, Bishnoi… humare maataye apni chati se lagakar, apne baache ki tarah dhood pilate hain (In this world, there is only one community, the Bishnoi community, where if a deer dies, its kids (a fawn) is looked after and fed by the mothers of the community like their own children.)”.

For the unversed, Salman Khan has been the target of Lawrence Bishnoi since 1998 after he was allegedly involved in the Black Buck shooting case. The alleged act had upset the Bishnoi community, which considers the blackbuck sacred. In 2018, Lawrence Bishnoi threatened the ‘Race 3’ actor during his court appearance. He said, “We will kill Salman Khan in Jodhpur. Everyone will know once we take action. I have not done anything as of now, they are accusing me of crimes for no reason.”
On April 14, 2024, a firing took place outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Bandra. After the incident, security outside Salman Khan’s house was increased. The security has been increased again outside the actor’s residence after Baba Siddique was shot dead on October 12. Salman Khan and his family also paid their last respect to Siddique at his funeral, where the actor was seen visibly distressed. According to India Today, his family has reportedly requested his friends from the film industry to refrain from visiting him.
After Baba Siddique’s assassination, a tight security cordon has also been put in place in South Mumbai’s Malabar Hill, where the residences of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar are located.
Meanwhile, Vivek Oberoi and Salman Khan were also involved in a feud in 2003, which was one of the most infamous scandals in Bollywood.
