Baba Siddique’s Assassination and Lawrence Bishnoi Gang’s Threats
Baba Siddique, an MLA associated with Sharad Pawar’s NCP faction, was shot dead outside his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office on Saturday in Mumbai. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which had previously threatened actor Salman Khan, has taken responsibility for the killing. Siddique was shot six times by three assailants and was declared dead at the hospital.
The gang’s resentment toward Salman Khan stems from the actor’s alleged involvement in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, where the blackbuck, a sacred animal for the Bishnoi community, was killed. Salman Khan has faced several threats from the gang in the past, including bullets fired outside his home and a letter warning of a similar fate to that of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, who was killed in 2022.
