Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri promises to reveal uncomfortable truths with his upcoming film, The Delhi Files, on the third anniversary of his last controversial hit, The Kashmir Files.
Vivek Agnihotri took to Instagram on Tuesday to celebrate the third anniversary of his powerful film, The Kashmir Files. The movie which starred Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, and Pallavi Joshi shed light on the compelxities of Kashmiri Hindus during the 1990s.
The film back then was widely discussed and controversial for its portrayal of the Kashmiri Hindu genocide and left a lasting impact on audiences across India.
As Vivek reflected on the success of The Kashmir Files, he also took the opportunity to share exciting news about his upcoming project- The Delhi Files.
The Delhi Files Promises To Reveal The Darkest Truths
Vivek Agnihotri made a bold statement about The Delhi Files, describing it as his next major project that will expose the ‘darkest’ truths of history.
Taking to Instagram Vivek wrote: “Dear friends, they tried to silence me. They tried to erase history. But The Kashmir Files became a movement- shaking the nation and exposing the truth of the Kashmiri Hindu genocide. If The Kashmir Files disturbed you, The Delhi Files will destroy you- because my life’s mission is to tell the darkest, most buried, untold truths of our history, no matter how uncomfortable they are.”
The Delhi Files will complete Vivek’s ‘Files’ trilogy which includes The Tashkent Files and The Kashmir Files. The first instalment of The Delhi Files is titled as Bengal Chapter and is set to hit the screens on this Independence Day.
Pallavi Joshi On The Kashmir Files’ Legacy
Pallavi Joshi who was featured in The Kashmir Files, also shared her thoughts on the film’s third anniversary. As both an actor and producer she spoke about how The Kashmir Files was not just a film but a mission for her to expose a silenced story and honour the pain of the forgotten.
