Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin and Hollywood actress Dakota Johnson were recently spotted at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. The duo, in India for Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres tour, took a spiritual detour to participate in the sacred rituals of the Kumbh Mela.
Viral Video Captures The Moment
A fan named Bharat Chaudhary captured the moment and shared it on Instagram. The video, which quickly went viral, shows Chris and Dakota taking a dip at Triveni Sangam, where the Ganges, Yamuna, and mythical Saraswati rivers converge. In the clip, Chris can be seen in black shorts, while Dakota chose a traditional kurta and trousers. As they walked towards the river, the fan zoomed in, capturing their expressions and reverence.

“When you can’t go to the concert, the artist comes to you- at Kumbh Mela! Took a Sangam Snan with none other than Coldplay’s Chris Martin and Dakota, who followed every ritual with deep respect. Music unites, but faith transcends. Har Har Mahadev!”
Coldplay’s Memorable India Tour
Their visit to the Kumbh Mela came after Coldplay’s electrifying performances across India. During the Ahmedabad concert, Chris Martin paid tribute to India by singing Vande Mataram and Maa Tujhhe Salaam on Republic Day, receiving a thunderous response from the audience. “O Jasprit Bumrah, my beautiful brother. The best bowler in the whole of cricket. We did not enjoy watching you destroy England, wicket after wicket.”
