Vikrant Massey is gearing up for the release of his movie ‘The Sabarmati Report’. While promoting the Sabarmati Report, the actor recently addressed the accusation of being ‘BJP friendly’ because of his movie. But Vikrant shared that his perspective has changed in the last decade and he feels that things are not as bad as he thought it was.
While speaking to Shubhankar Mishra on his podcast, Vikrant said, “People change. I wasn’t the same person I was 10 years ago. I am hopeful that I will not be the same person 10 years from now that I am. Change is the only constant and I am not saying just for the quote. My perspective to things have changed over the years. But as I said, I am still a secular person.”
Owing to the nature of my job, I have travelled throughout the country and I meet different people. I meet thousands of people on a daily basis. I also have my own eyes and ears. So, a few things that I used to think were wrong, today I don’t think they are wrong. Because I think things aren’t as bad as I had previously thought. I travel through UP, Bihar to do small-budget films and are set in rural India, I met people there and have discussions there. I have seen things with my own eyes so I am feeling that things are not as bad as I thought it was. I also need to calm myself down and see things from a very neutral perspective and not be influenced by anybody,” he added.
He also talked about his secularism in his personal life and said, “The country’s DNA is still unity in diversity. I am still the same. You know the situation in my house. My parents had an inter-caste marriage. So did I. My brother converted to another religion. What can be more secular?”
‘The Sabarmati Report’ also stars Raashii Khanna and Ridhi Dogra in the lead roles.
