Vikram’s ‘Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2’, which released in theatres today, has been in the headlines after its First Day First Shows (FDFS) got cancelled due to legal issues. According to reports, the Delhi High Court passed an interim order on Thursday to stall the release of ‘Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2’ due to legal problems over its OTT rights.
According to NewsBytes, all early morning shows of Veera Dheera Sooran were cancelled as the Delhi High Court stayed the film’s release till 10:30 AM. Multiplex chain like Cinepolis and PVR won’t show the movie before 11 AM and its North American premiere shows were reportedlt cancelled as well.
This order was passed after a Mumbai-based production company, B4U, alleged that the film’s producers violated their contract of selling the film’s OTT rights before its theatrical release and appealed to the court.
‘Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2’ is clashing at the box office with ‘L2: Empuraan’ even though the language of both the films are different. The controversy around Vikram-starrer might be beneficial for ‘L2: Empuraan’ in Tamil Nadu as both the films have big budget and feature big stars.
Talking about ‘L2: Empuraan’, the movie stars Mohanlal, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Abhimanyu Singh, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Jerome Flynn, Indrajith Sukumaran, Eriq Ebouaney, and Suraj Venjaramoodu. It is the sequel to the hit 2019 Malayalam movie ‘Lucifer’.
Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2 also stars S. J. Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Dushara Vijayan and Siddique. The movie revolves around Kaali, who is a store owner and family man but things changes when he gets involved in a dangerous crime network.
