New Delhi: Vijay Deverakonda’s Liger is currently trending for all the wrong reasons. The film is also falling prey to the infamous boycott trend after Vijay’s statement in support of Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha went viral. Netizens are upset with Vijay’s support for Aamir Khan because, in a recent conversation, the south strait was asked about the latest boycott trend in Bollywood, and the biggest victim of it was Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha. The superstar’s film bombed at the box office and is now regarded as the biggest flop in Khan’s career.

Vijay Deverakonda recently expressed his support for Aamir Khan-Kareena Kapoor’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ during one of the film’s promotional events. The south superstar was asked to comment on the recent boycott trend in Bollywood for ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ and a few other films. In response, Vijay stated that the boycott call against Bollywood films affects not only the actors but also the workers who give their blood and sweat to the production.

“When you decide to boycott a film, you are not only affecting Aamir Khan, you are affecting thousands of families who lose work and livelihoods,” Vijay said while speaking against the ‘boycott’ trend.

He told India Today, “I just think on a film set, other than the actor, director, and actress, there are many other important characters, there are 200-300 actors working on a film and all of us have staff members, so a film gives employment to many people and is a source of livelihoods for many. When Aamir Khan Sir makes a Laal Singh Chaddha, it is his name that stars in the film, but there are 2000-3000 families that are being provided for. When you decide to boycott a film, you are not only affecting Aamir Khan, you are affecting thousands of families who lose work and livelihoods.”
