Veteran Malayalam actor TP Madhavan passed away on Wednesday at the age of 88. He had reportedly worked in over 600 films and was a well-known name in the Malayalam film industry. Apart from acting, he was also the first General Secretary of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA).
He began his acting career at the age of 40 with the 1975 movie ‘Raagam’. TP Madhavan gained recognition for his roles as antagonists and later started doing comedy and character roles. He was last seen in the Malayalam movies ‘Maalgudi Days’ in 2016.
He is survived by his daughter Devika and son Raja Krishna Menon. His son is a well-known director in Bollywood and has directed ‘Airlift’, ‘Chef’ and ‘Pippa’, among others.
