Veteran Tamil actor Rajesh passed away on May 29 at the age of 75. According to reports, he complained of low blood pressure in the morning but he passed away on his way to the hospital. The news of his demise was confirmed by his nephew.
The news has left the South Indian film fraternity and fans in deep mourning. Superstar Rajinikanth, who shared screen space with Rajesh in several iconic films such as Thai Veedu, Billa, and Thanikattu Raja, expressed his sorrow on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote: “The news of the sudden death of my close friend, actor Rajesh, shocked me and caused me great grief. He was a wonderful man, may his soul rest in peace. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.”

Film producer G Dhananjeyan also shared a heartfelt tribute: “Very sad to read about the passing away of Actor #Rajesh sir, a fine actor and a respected person in film industry. My heartfelt condolences to the family. Rest in peace sir.”

Actress Radhikaa Sarathkumar also expressed her shock and grief on the demise of Rajesh. She wrote, “Deeply shocked and sudden to hear of #rajesh s unexpected demise. Shared so many movies together and had a deep respect to his wide knowledge of cinema and life, will be missed by family, friends and film fraternity. #RIP”

The late actor worked in over 150 films in his career. He began his acting career in 1974 with the film ‘Aval Oru Thodar Kathai’. He worked in several films like Kanni Paruvathile, Andha 7 Naatkal, Thanikattu Raja, Payanangal Mudivathillai, Metti, Anal Kaatru, Thai Veedu, Oru Indhiya Kanavu, Simma Soppanam, Sirai, Manakanakku, Ilangeswaran, Sathya, Vaathiyaar Veettu Pillai, Dheena, and many more.
His last film was Merry Christmas with Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi.
