Swedish actor-musician Björn Andrésen passed away on October 25 at the age of 70. The cause of his death has not been revealed. He rose to immense worldwide fame after starring in the 1970 film ‘Death in Venice’ when he was only 14. He became widely known as the most beautiful boy in the world.
He was raised by his maternal grandparents after his mother passed away when he was only 10. Björn started his career with the 1970 film ‘En kärlekshistoria’ and later starred in ‘Death in Venice’. The plot focused on Composer Gustave Aschenbach, who is undergoing artistic and personal problems, and is smitten with a physically ideal young boy, Tadzio.
The actor gained massive popularity in Japan after the release of Death in Venice. He also served as the inspiration for several anime and manga characters.

He further worked in Bluff Stop, The Simple Minded Murder, One Week Bachelors, That Was Then, Pelicanman, The Grave, Shelley and Jordskott. He also appeared in the 2019 horror film ‘Midsommar’. He was last seen in the TV series ‘Agatha Christie’s Hjerson’.
A 2021 documentary film, ‘The Most Beautiful Boy in the World’, was released based on Björn Andrésen’s life and the fame he received after Death in Venice.
