Uunchai Box Office: Sooraj Barjatya’s tale of friendship Uunchai opened up with a decent number at the box office. The movie that released on November 11, stars Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, and Boman Irani in the lead role. Danny Denzongpa and Parineeti Chopra also played prominent roles.
After a decent amount collected on Day 1, Uunchai on its second day managed to mint around Rs. 3.50 – 3.65 cr nett. This is a growth of over a 100 percent which is staggering. The Sunday growth will be muted because of the capacity issues but it is expected that the shows will increase from Monday. On day 1, the film minted Rs 1.81 crore.
Meanwhile, the film got a relatively small release, with just 483 screens and four shows in a day.
Uunchai Box Office Day 1
According to Box Office India, “Unchaai has taken a decent start of 20-25% on a very restricted release. The film had very little going for it in terms of getting an audience in on the opening day but because of the release strategy, the film has managed a decent response. The film has been released on less than 500 screens and more importantly there are hardly 1400 shows for the film as each screen has minimal shows.”
“The numbers will not be high due to the restricted release but it the film could get to 1.50 crore nett it would be a decent result as these are the sort of numbers many films have been getting but with four times the shows. This would give the film a platform to do well if the film is good enough.” BOI added.
