Urvashi Rautela, the actress recently making headlines for her film Daaku Maharaaj, is once again in the spotlight as a throwback video surfaced online, going viral. In the video, Urvashi claims that she was the first actor to join the cast of the 2016 film Sanam Re.
This revelation came during a 2016 interview with Box Office India, where Urvashi explained how she signed on for the film in August 2014, before the rest of the cast was finalised.
Yami Gautam’s Humorous Response
However, her claim was swiftly met with a playful response from co-star Yami Gautam. As Urvashi proudly stated, “I was the first one to join the cast,” Yami cheekily interrupted, saying, “That’s what was told to everybody. We all were on board.” Her comment left everyone in the interview room laughing, adding a light-hearted touch to the conversation.
The fun didn’t stop there, as Pulkit Samrat also chimed in, jokingly commenting, “Mujhse wo puch rahe the, Ye kaisi hai, ye kaisi hai?” (They were asking me, ‘How is she?’) adding to the camaraderie between the three stars.

Urvashi’s Explanation About Her Role
Urvashi went on to explain that although many believed her appearance in Sanam Re was due to her hit song “Love Dose” with Yo Yo Honey Singh, it was actually her signing the film in 2014 that set the wheels in motion. She shared how she was excited to work with Divya Khosla Kumar, the director, and praised her for being an amazing director.
Sanam Re’s Journey
Directed by Divya Khosla Kumar, Sanam Re was released in theatres on 12th February 2016. The film also starred Yami Gautam and Pulkit Samrat. Since then, Urvashi has appeared in several other films, including Great Grand Masti, Hate Story 4, Pagalpanti, and most recently in Daaku Maharaaj.
