Neighbors reported a foul odor coming from Noor’s apartment, prompting them to alert the Oshiwara police. Upon entering, the police discovered Noor’s body hanging from the ceiling fan. She was found in an advanced state of decomposition. The police searched the residence, collecting medicines, her mobile phone, and a diary as part of their investigation. According to a report by Mid-Day, it’s believed that Noor committed suicide by hanging herself from the bedroom fan.

After conducting a panchnama, the authorities transported Noor Malabika Das’ body to Siddharth Hospital in Goregaon for a post-mortem examination. Despite efforts to contact her family, they did not respond. On Sunday, the police, assisted by the Mamdani Health and Education Trust NGO responsible for the cremation of unclaimed bodies in the city, performed her last rites. An officer stated, “We reached out to her family, who had relocated to their hometown two weeks ago. The investigation continues.”
