The trailer of Mission Impossible 8 was officially unveiled by popular Hollywood star Tom Cruise at CinemaCon 2025. The actor made his first appearance at the event after the COVID-19 pandemic. He presented the trailer in the event, which received a good response from fans. Apart from the trailer, its release date was also announced at CinemaCon. The film is directed by Christopher McQuarrie and written by Bruce Geller and Erick Jendresen. The plot of this movie conveys that one’s life is shaped by choices, where Tom Cruise is playing the role of Ethan Hunt in Mission Impossible 8. This movie also stars Vanessa Kirby and Tremell Tillman.
At the event, Tom Cruise acclaimed McQuarrie by revealing how he secretly brought him to improve Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol without telling the team. According to Times Now, he added, “He’s the hero of that film and put Skydance on the map.” He elaborated, “Because of Christopher McQuarrie, we delivered Top Gun: Maverick and two Mission: Impossible films during pandemic shutdowns and strikes. You’re a modern-day Thalberg and an asset to every studio you serve.” Later, Cruise honoured McQuarrie with CinemaCon’s Director of the Year Award.

In the next part, which was released in 2000, Ethan again went back and started working with professional thief Nyah Nordoff-Hall. In the next part, Ethan got engaged to Julia Meade, who was not aware of his true job. In the fourth film of this franchise, Ethan and his team bombed the Kremlin. Two more movies, Mission Impossible- Rogue Nation and Fallout, were released in 2015 and 2018, respectively. The previous part was released in 2023, where an AI named Entity was responsible for the sinking of a Russian Submarine.
