New Delhi: N Lingusamy’s known for some of the most popular Tamil films, like Run and Sandagozhi. In 2022, a case has been filed by PVP against him and his brother, Subash Chandra Bose, for a Rs 1.03 crore cheque bounce case. The brothers own a manufacturing company, Thirupathi Brothers and in 2014 borrowed that amount from PVP Capital Limited. PVP filed an action against them when the cheque they sent turned out to be invalid.
The local magistrate of Saidapet, who had convicted the director of Tamil film N Lingusamy on charges of cheque fraud, sentenced him to six months in jail. Lingusamy appealed against the order, which was issued on August 22, 2022. On April 12, the Madras Principal Sessions Court supported the 6-month jail penalty set by the Saidapet court on Tollywood director Lingusamy. He’ll have to serve six months in jail now.

N Lingusamy’s Statements
Last year, at the time of the sentencing, Lingusamy said in his statement, “The dispute is between PVP capitals and our production house Thirrupathi Brothers film media private limited. The honorable court ruled today on the petition they have filed. We will appeal against this order and legally face the issue.”
Last year, in an interview with a YouTube channel, Lingusamy stated, “I am aware that there’s a talk going around that my production venture’s downfall is due to making Uttama Villain. But I have never said a word of that sort anywhere because we have learnt a lot from him. My film Sandakozhi (his biggest hit) has a connection with Kamal Haasan’s Devar Magan. I have watched Devar Magan numerous times and it is one of the best films in Tamil cinema ever. So, there has been a lot of learning from him.”
N Lingusamy’s Films
For Director Lingusamy, the last couple of years has been extremely difficult. He ended up with financial problems after some of his films failed at the box office. The films he directed did not do well at the box office either. The Warrior had been his last film with Telugu star Ram Pothineni, and it hadn’t done well either commercially or critically.
