Gurucharan Singh, best known for his portrayal of Roshan Singh Sodhi in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has recently been making headlines due to his deteriorating health. The actor, who was hospitalized earlier, was described as being in a critical condition. Since returning home in May 2024, Singh had given up on solid food, leading to concerns about his well-being.

In a recent interview with ETimes, Singh’s close friend Bhakti Soni shared an encouraging update. After months of avoiding solid food, Gurucharan has finally agreed to eat. This marks a positive step toward his recovery and has brought relief to those worried about his condition.

Financial Struggles And Support

Soni revealed that securing financial stability has played a significant role in uplifting Singh’s morale. She managed to close a deal worth Rs. 13 lakh for the actor, which eased some of his financial burdens. Earlier, she had personally helped him with another Rs. 33 lakh. Despite this, Soni expressed disappointment over the lack of support from the actor’s colleagues in the entertainment industry.

Commenting on the lack of assistance from Gurucharan’s fellow actors, Soni said, “I just fail to understand- the man is almost dying, but nobody came forward to help him.” She further disclosed that while the publicist team from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah did inquire about his health, they did not offer any financial aid. According to Soni, what Gurucharan needs most is work, not just monetary assistance.

Sacrificing Water For 19 Days

In an earlier interview, Soni revealed a startling detail about Singh’s condition. He had refrained from drinking water for 19 days, which left him severely dehydrated and unconscious, eventually leading to his hospitalization. This drastic measure highlighted the severity of his mental and physical state
