Thunivu box office collection Day 2: Ajith Kumar’s film expected to bring Rs 100 crore

Thunivu box office collection Day 2: On January 11, Thunivu, starring Ajith Kumar, had a fantastic first day at the box office. Trade reports state that the movie exceeded the Rs 50 crore threshold on its first day and is now anticipating a successful weekend at the box office. The robbery drama is drawing viewers outside of Tamil Nadu, including in France and North America. On its second day at the box office, the movie is anticipated to bring in Rs 100 crore.

H Vinoth’s film Thunivu debuted in theatres on January 11 and established the tone for the Pongal celebrations. Vijay’s Varisu provided competition for the movie at the box office.

Early estimates indicated that the movie made between Rs 12 and Rs 15 crore on its second day in theatres. Even though there was a decrease in the opening day takings, it should be noted that due to Pongal, most theatres had sold out of tickets for the weekend. Consequently, the collection will once again see growth.

Ramesh Bala, a trade analyst, noted that Thunivu is attracting interest abroad as well.

About Thunivu 

The movie Thunivu was written, directed, and produced by Boney Kapoor. Along with Samuthirakani, Pavani Reddy, Manju Warrier, and Ajith Kumar, it also has John Kokken, Mamathi Chari, Veera, and Bagavathi Perumal in supporting roles. The movie, which will be Ajith’s 61st in a main role, was announced in February 2022 with the working title AK61. 

The storyline of Thunivu centres around Radha, a notorious gangster. He and his men prepare to rob one of Chennai’s largest banks, but they soon learn that the bank has already been taken over by another gang led by a strange figure known only as the “Dark Devil.”
