Decades before in 20’s, The most popular Bollywood buzz was around the most famous people from the industry, i.e. Aishwarya Rai, Vivek Oberoi and Salman Khan. Aishwarya and Salman began dating in 1999, but their relationship ended in 2002. Soon after, Aishwarya was linked to Vivek Oberoi, which led to a big rivalry between Salman and Vivek.
In 2003, As per the news headlines, Vivek alleged that Salman had threatened him over his link-up with Aishwarya. All these controversy took a toll on Vivek’s career, it is said that being most famous in the industry Salman was the reason that Vivek didn’t get many films after that fued.
Vivek Oberoi Reflects On His Past
Years later, in a candid interview On Dr Jai Madaan’s YouTube channel In last year, December, Vivek Oberoi opens up about his past relationships and shared the lessons that he had learned over the time. When asked about Salman Khan, he simply responded, “God bless him.” Similarly, for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, he said, “God bless her.” However, when Abhishek Bachchan’s name came into the conversation Vivek praised, calling him “a sweetheart and a really nice person.”
Discussing about the emotional toll of being a public figure, Vivek says, “Your breakup becomes world news.” However, he expressed that moving on was the only key to healing.
When asked about any advice for the one’s who are dealing with the same, he said, “If someone is leaving your life, think of it this way: A child drops his lollipop in the mud, and his mother won’t allow him to eat it because it is dirty. Life will give you a new partner. The longer you stay with pain, the more it’ll grow.”
Vivek also emphasised on recognising one’s self-worth in relationships. “I’m speaking from personal experience. Sometimes, we go into abusive relationships where people don’t value or respect us. You stay because you haven’t identified your self-worth,” he shared.
He admitted that at one point in his life, he had a very fatalistic attitude, thinking, “I don’t care, I can give my life also.” However, over time, he learned the importance of valuing himself.
Rising Above Negativity
When asked how his past shaped his present life, Vivek shared that he had grown beyond superficiality. “Perhaps I would’ve become a superficial person, living a superficial life. Perhaps I would’ve become plastic myself, among people with plastic smiles,” he reflected.
He further added, “If people troll me now, I don’t care. I know my purpose in life, and I know what is truly important to me.”
Despite the ups and downs, Vivek Oberoi seems to have moved forward with positivity, self-awareness, and a renewed sense of purpose.
