Neena Gupta has addressed the criticism surrounding her ‘faltu feminist’ remark, clarifying her stance in a recent interview. Earlier, a small clip of her podcast interview with Ranveer Allahbadia was shared online in which Neena said it is not necessary for women to believe in the idea of feminism. Neena also mentioned that the snippet was deliberately highlighted by the team to generate controversy.
Speaking with The Indian Express, Neena said, “What they did is that they only used that chunk from the whole interview for promotions, to create a controversy. It said that I don’t believe in ‘faltu feminism’, and after that people are fighting amongst each other. If one person is cursing me for saying that, someone else says, ‘What do you know? Watch the whole interview’. There should be a reference to what I said.”
The ‘Badhai Ho’ actress mentioned being cautious on social media. She added that she has made mistakes a couple of times. She now makes sure that she doesn’t post anything on social media if she’s angry, or if she’ve had a fight with someone. One should also not post if they are drunk, because if they do, then they regret it later.
