New Delhi: After the massive hit of The Witcher season 1 and 2, fans are really looking forward to Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia and how the story will unfold further. While The Witcher season 3 will be released during summer 2023, season 4 has a bad news for Henry Cavill fans.
The actor, who essays the role of Geralt of Rivia, took to his Instagram handle and announced that he is longer a part of Witcher season 4. He captioned, “My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4…”
He also revealed who will be replacing him in The Witcher Season 4. “…In my stead, the fantastic Mr Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf. As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam’s take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men. Liam, good sir, this character has such a wonderful depth to him, enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find.”

After Henry announced his retreat from the series, fans took to the social media and expressed their disappointment. One fan tweeted, “Absolutely gutted. I won’t be watching Witcher season 4.. I feel so let down. It’s either the superman role or Cavill actually getting the James Bond role that’s done this. Worst news ever.”

Another wrote, “I can’t believe Henry Cavil stepped down as Gerald of Rivia to go be Superman, while I love Superman; Henry is Geralt. Nobody can play that better than him. Now Liam Hemsworth will be Geralt in season 4 of The Witcher.”
