He has returned to the big screens with his film ‘The Sabarmati Report’, which is based on the events that took place on February 27, 2002, near the Godhra railway station in Gujarat. The movie has been receiving good reactions from the audiences and has a lukewarm response at the box office.

According to the website, ‘The Sabarmati Report’ collected Rs 3 crore on day 3 as per early estimates. The movie witnessed a slight growth in numbers from Friday and Saturday. The movie has earned Rs 6.35 crore in total.
Even though ‘The Sabarmati Report’ was the only Hindi release in theatres this week, the movie is still behind ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ and ‘Singham Again’ which were released on November 1, 2024. As per Sacnilk, ‘Singham Again’, starring Ajay Devgn collected Rs 4.15 approximately on Sunday. Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan-starrer ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ earned Rs 6 crore on the same day.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently praised ‘The Sabarmati Report’ on X (formerly Twitter). He reshared a post that called the film ‘a must watch’ and wrote, “Well said. It is good that this truth is coming out, and that too in a way common people can see it. A fake narrative can persist only for a limited period of time. Eventually, the facts will always come out!”
