Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover are poised for a reunion on stage for ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’. The program promises the return of beloved personalities from ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, such as Archana Puran Singh, Kiku Sharda, and Krushna Abhishek, among others. Netflix India released the show’s trailer on Saturday.

In the trailer, Kapil begins by revealing a large gift box, from which Sunil emerges, donning his well-known Gutthi persona. The two engage in light-hearted banter, with Sunil playfully teasing Kapil by using the word “turbulence,” thus amusing him. This moment harks back to a significant event in 2017 when the two comedians had a notable disagreement during a flight.
The trailer also showcased a diverse lineup of guests, featuring prominent figures such as Bollywood’s esteemed Kapoor family (Ranbir, Riddhima, and Neetu Kapoor), filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, actor-singers Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra, actor Aamir Khan, Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma, and batsman Shreyas Iyer.

In 2022, Kapil made his debut on Netflix with a stand-up special titled “I’m Not Done Yet.” Speculation had been circulating since then regarding Kapil potentially transitioning to Netflix with his weekly show. However, the official announcement confirming this move was only made in 2023.
Sunil Grover expressed his happiness at reuniting with Kapil, likening it to a ‘homecoming’. He mentioned that ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ feels like returning to their roots and continuing their camaraderie seamlessly. Grover also highlighted the trailer’s glimpse into the fun and madness of the show, emphasizing the Indian fans’ importance and the excitement of reaching a global audience through Netflix.
