New Delhi: The Elephant Whisperers, a Tamil documentary, gained the country honours after winning the Oscar for Best Documentary Short. After receiving so much love and praise, the team was recently honoured by the Chennai Super Kings. In a special event on May 9, the IPL team honoured real-life heroes Bomman and Bellie, the elephant carers, as well as Oscar-winning director Kartiki Gonsalves.

The Chennai Super Kings team honoured The Elephant Whisperers team at a function on May 9, and it was a happy occasion for the group. After training at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday, MS Dhoni surprised Bomman and Bellie from The Elephant Whisperers and director Kartiki Gonsalves with customised CSK shirts.

The caring pair and the filmmaker will also be the recipients of a special felicitation ceremony that Chennai Super Kings will hold at the stadium before their match against Delhi Capitals on Wednesday, May 10.
Their names were printed on the back of the jersey that Dhoni gave to the famous couple. The official Instagram page of the IPL team shared the pictures and videos on Instagram which read, “Roars of appreciation to the team that won our hearts! So good to host Bomman, Bellie and filmmaker Kartiki Gonsalves (sic).”
