New Delhi: The fifth season of The Crown is all set to make its appearance in Netflix next month. Earlier there was a buzz that the new season will halt its shooting following Queen Elizabeth’s death. But nothing of that sort happened and the show’s release date remained intact.
However, the creator of the show Peter Morgan released a statement stating a halt on the shooting of its 6th season. As per latest reports, The Crown Season 5 will see some changes in terms of its cast and plot. Here, let us look at the overall details of the Netflix’s show.

The Crown Season 5 release date
The Crown season 5 will premiere on Netflix on November 9, 2022. It will reportedly have 10 episodes just like the previous seasons. The fourth season of the show arrived in November 2020, while the third arrived in 2016.
The Crown Season 5 Cast
Regarding the new cast, Queen Elizabeth who was portrayed by Olivia Colman in the last season will now be played by Imelda Staunton. Jonathan will be stepping in to play Prince Philip after Tobias Menzies. Elizabeth Debicki will portray Princess Diana alongside Dominic West as Prince Charles. Timothee Sambor and Teddy Hawley have been cast as young princes William and Harry on the show. Lesley Manville will be seen as Princess Margaret, Claudia Harrison as Princess Anne and Olivia Williams as Camilla Parker Bowles on the show.

The New Plot
The fifth season will highlight Queen Elizabeth’s years from 1990-2003. It will also cover Princess Diana’s rise to fame as the People’s Princess and her separation from Prince Charles (now King Charles III) to her death in a car crash.
What to expect from the new Season
The new season will rather focus on the shaky side of the royal family- from Princess Anne’s divorce to the fire incident at the Windsor Castle- may be more.
