‘The Conjuring’ film franchise has come to an end with the release of its latest instalment. The movie titled ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ has been receiving an amazing response from the audience and has created a storm at the box office. Its release felt like the end of an era to fans as it has a huge popularity across the globe. As per the recent updates, the makers are planning to expand the franchise to a series.
According to a report by Variety, a series from the world of ‘The Conjuring’ is under development with Nancy Won as its writer, executive producer, and showrunner. Peter Cameron and Cameron Squires are reportedly roped in as writers.
It has also been reported that HBO is behind the production but refused to comment on it.
Talking about ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’, the movie is the final part of this franchise. It revolves around paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, who try to vanquish a demon from a family’s home.
The movie stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga in the lead roles with Mia Tomlinson, Ben Hardy, Rebecca Calder, Elliot Cowan, Kila Lord Cassidy, Beau Gadsdon, Molly Cartwright, John Brotherton and Shannon Kook.
The first instalment of ‘The Conjuring’ also featured Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as Ed and Lorraine Warren. The movie is reportedly inspired by ‘The Amityville Horror’ story and focuses on Rod and Carolyn, who are living in fear due to a spirit harming their daughter Andrea. They finally call paranormal investigators who can help them get out of the mess.
Meanwhile, the second part had a new story with Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as Ed and Lorraine Warren. ‘The Conjuring 2’ focuses on Peggy, who is a single mother of four children and seeks the help of occult investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren when she and her children witness strange, paranormal events in their house.
The third part focused on Arne Cheyenne Johnson, who stabs and murders his landlord, claiming to be under demonic possession, while Ed and Lorraine Warren investigate the case and try to prove his innocence.
