Director Michael Chaves’s The Conjuring: Last Rites crossed the Rs 50 crore mark on Sunday (September 7) and is now the biggest horror film launch of 2025. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reprise their roles as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren in the ninth installment of the horror franchise. Produced on a budget of $55 million, the horror film is already smashing box office records around the globe.
The Conjuring Last Rites Box Office Collection
As per Sacnilk’s early estimates, The Conjuring: Last Rites grossed Rs 5 crore on its first Monday to take its total gross to Rs 55.50 crore. The film has taken a sizable hit after its opening weekend but I suspect the public’s interest in the film will still linger for quite a while. The horror film has been dubbed into Hindi and Tamil as well.

The Conjuring: Last Rites scores huge opening at worldwide box office
Having ruled the domestic market, the latest installment in the Conjuring franchise has the biggest global opening in history for a horror film. In its debut weekend, Warner Bros. film scored $194 globally, beating the previous record of $190 million set by the 2017 film It.
The horror film scored $110 million at opening, reclaiming the record from the previous sequel It: Chapter Two (2019) which had opened only to $92 million.; even more remarkable since both were pre-covid. The Conjuring: Last Rites is off the line at a remarkable pace.
