New Delhi: Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra starrer Thank God opened up with a lowest number. The film which hit the theatres on October 25, managed to collect a lukewarm Rs. 8 crore. The movie, also starring Rakulpreet Singh faced a tough clash with Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu.
Now on the second day of box office, Thank God saw a steep drop of 25%, collecting around Rs. 5.50 cr to Rs. 6 cr on its second day, that takes the total to a low Rs. 13.75 crore.
As far as its oversea performance is concerned, the film may end up doing less than 1 million. Looking at the current trend, the film is expected to make Rs. 50 crore nett domestically, but that too seems like a task at the moment.
If we compare it to the Akshay Kumar starrer, Ram Setu is doing bit better than Thank God. The theme of Ram Setu being a factor is gaining support from many religious groups and support of the public.
Thank God Box Office Day 1
The target audience for Sidharth and Ajay Devgn’s movie is families. Thanks to the comedy subgenre, which is always a guaranteed thing at the box office, Thank God has made double digits on Day 1. Early trade estimates indicate that the film’s opening weekend took in close to Rs 10 crore. Given that it went up against a different movie starring a significant Bollywood celebrity, this is a respectable box office haul. Despite unfavourable reviews, Thank God was able to draw viewers in on Day 1 and gain from the Diwali celebrations.
About the movie
