Teja Sajja’s upcoming fantasy drama ‘Mirai’, which is set to release on 12th September 2025 in multiple languages Telugu, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Hindi and Bengali. It has signed a massive Rs 40 crore OTT deal, covering 90% of the film’s Rs 50 crore production budget.
According to Ott Play, Jio Hotstar has bought the digital rights in a record-breaking deal, making it one of the most expensive Telugu digital buys of the year. Other revenue sources like music and satellite rights also add to the film’s financial strength.
Theatrical performance will play a key role in the film’s overall profits. Theatrical rights have been sold for Rs 37 crore in Telugu states, and the film needs to earn at least Rs 34 crore to break even. Early ticket bookings indicate strong audience interest, which hints at a hopeful opening with positive response.
After the national success of ‘HanuMan’, Teja Sajja has gained recognition outside the Telugu audience as well, and the Hindi release of ‘Mirai’ is also much anticipated. Presented by Karan Johar, the film also marks the comeback of Manchu Manoj as the main villain, which could prove to be significant for his career.
