Lockdown (Tamil)
‘Lockdown’ was directed by newcomer AR Jeeva and starring Anupama Parameswaran, was originally planned for a June release but has now been rescheduled to arrive in theatres on 5 December. The movie features a large ensemble cast, including Charlie, Nirosha, Priya Venkat, Livingston, Indhumathi, Rajkumar, Shamji, Lollu Saba Maran, Vinayak Raj, Vidhu, Abhirami, Ravathi, Sanjivie, Priya Ganesh and Asha, all appearing in important supporting roles.
Vaa Vaathiyaar (Tamil)
Karthi’s fans have something exciting to look forward to, with the team behind ‘Vaa Vaathiyaar’ confirming its theatrical arrival on 5 December. The film is crafted by director Nalan Kumarasamy and features Krithi Shetty, Sathyaraj and Rajkiran in key characters, adding strong depth to the cast.
Angammal (Tamil)
‘Angammal’ directed by Vipin Radhakrishnan, features Geetha Kailasam in the main role, with Saran Shakthi, Thendral Raghunathan, and Bharani joining the cast. The film was first shown at MAMI 2024. The story follows a man who returns home after living abroad and finds it difficult to deal with the fact that his mother chooses to wear her sari without a blouse. This creates emotional tension as both hold different views about tradition and comfort. The movie will arrive in cinemas on 5 December.
Retta Thala (Tamil)
Actor Arun Vijay, last featured in Bala’s Vanangaan, is now set to arrive on the big screen with his next project ‘Retta Thala’. The team has announced that the film is slated for a theatrical release on 18 December.
Love Insurance Kompany (Tamil)
The team behind Vignesh Shivan’s upcoming directorial project ‘Love Insurance Kompany’ has officially announced that the film is scheduled for release on 18 December. The movie features Dude and Dragon actor Pradeep Ranganathan in the lead role, while SJ Suryah takes on the antagonist’s part. Krithi Shetty is also part of the principal cast.
Akhanda 2 Thaandavam (Telgu)
Nandamuri Balakrishna is set to reprise his powerful role in the sequel to Akhanda, officially titled ‘Akhanda 2 Thaandavam’. Directed by Boyapati Srinu, the upcoming film promises high octane action and an intensified narrative.
