Shihan Hussaini, who was an actor, karate and archery expert, passed away in the early hours of March 25, Tuesday. The heartbreaking news of his demise was announced by his family on the late actor’s official Facebook page. He was battling with blood cancer for some time and shared updates about his well being on social media.
Announcing the news of his demise, his family wrote on Facebook, “I’m very sad to inform that HU has left us. HU will be at the High Command, his residence at Besant Nagar until evening. -Hussaini and family kamana/mahima.”

His family has invited his students, archers and coaches to his funeral. The post read, “Dear archers, parents and coaches, Whoever is coming to HU’s house to see his mortal remains, please come in your uniform (any colour is fine), if possible come with your bow and arrow to shoot a few arrows.
His mortal remains will be in high command till 7pm. All archers will shoot a few arrows at 5pm where HU will be administering the shooting through his mortal body. All karatekas, at 3pm assemble with your Gi and you will perform katas, where HU will administer through his mortal body. After 7pm, his mortal remains will be taken to Madurai.”

Shihan made his acting debut in 1986 with the movie ‘Punnagai Mannan’. He worked with several popular actors including Rajinikanth, R Sarathkumar, Thalapathy Vijay, Vijay Sethupathi, Kamal Haasan and more. He was last seen in the film ‘Chennai City Gangsters’ in 2024.
