According to a source close to the actors, Munmun and Raj got engaged in a low-key ceremony outside Mumbai. The engagement took place just a few days back, with the two apparently exchanging rings in Vadodara, Gujarat. Munmun and Raj’s families have accepted their relationship and were also present at the ceremony.

The source added that Munmun and Raj have been dating since Raj joined Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, and their relationship was evident to everyone on the sets. In fact, some people were certain that Munmun and Raj would eventually get married, so it’s not surprising that they are now engaged.

The alleged dating rumors surrounding Munmun Dutta and Raj Anadkat were initially reported by Times of India in September 2021. According to the report, every member of the ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ team was aware of their relationship. However, Munmun refuted the report and strongly denied it on her social media handle.

Munmun had expressed her strong condemnation towards the media and wrote “To the media and their zero credibility ‘journos’, who has given you the right to post ‘imaginary’ ‘made up’ articles in people’s name about their private life without their consent? Are you liable to the damage that you cause to their lives with your reckless behaviour? You don’t stop at shoving your cameras on the face of a grieving woman who just lost her love or lost her son, in a funeral, just for your TRPs. You can stoop to any level to create sensational articles/headlines at the cost of someone’s dignity, but are you going to take responsibility for wrecking havoc in their lives?? If no then, you should be ashamed of yourself!!”

Raj later addressed the dating rumors and shared a statement on Instagram. He urged those constantly writing about him to consider the potential repercussions their false stories could have on his life without his consent. He encouraged creative individuals to redirect their creativity elsewhere for their own benefit. Raj concluded his statement by expressing his hope that those responsible would gain better judgment.
